IT for Small Business

Are you a small business looking for computer network support, managed services or cloud solutions?

If the answer is yes, here are 6 reasons to contact us:

We are Microsoft Partner certified in Small Business

Microsoft Partners with a competency in Small Business are qualified to recommend and deliver on-premises and cloud-based solutions geared to small businesses. Their competency is earned by certified IT professionals and customer references.

As of October 2014, GM Solutions is one of 3 companies in Greater Vancouver area and mainland British Columbia with a Microsoft Competency in Small Business.

We are a local company

In fact, GM Solutions is the only Microsoft certified small business provider whose head office is housed in Greater Vancouver, and the only one that specializes in serving small businesses. We are a local company that specifically serves small businesses. We focus entirely on our client demographic to give you the attention that you deserve.

We are not a one man show

Many small IT support firms are actually a single self-employed IT professional. They work from home, have no office (except a mailbox in UPS) or employees. They may be friendly and knowledgeable, but they don’t have anybody to replace them. If they have medical emergency or simply go on vacation, they may rely on their buddy to help their clients but that is all.

At GM Solutions, we make sure our technicians aren’t irreplaceable. Most of small businesses prefer to have a dedicated technician serving their business. However, if your favorite technician is unavailable for any reasons, there will always be somebody to replace them.

We are here to stay

There are hundreds of IT support companies among over 200,000 small businesses in Metro Vancouver and Metro Abbotsford area. Only 50% of businesses survive first five years. The last thing you want to do is to find out your IT service provider is out of business, leaving you without support and without documentation.

GM Solutions has been in business since 2002. We become Microsoft Certified Partner in 2003 and since then, we have maintained that status. Among other things, that’s mean that in the last 10 years we always had at least two technicians with the latest Microsoft certifications and current customer references.

We can support your growth

Some of our clients grow and come to the point they can’t be considered small businesses any more. We are always excited about that, because that means that we did a good job supporting them. It also means that our business is growing.

GM Solutions earned Microsoft competency in Midmarket Solutions, so we can help midmarket businesses meet their unique challenges. We have a deep understanding of midmarket business processes, infrastructure needs and future growth costs.

We are a one-stop shop for all your computing needs

As a small business owner or manager, you don’t have time to manage several IT suppliers, vendors and service providers. That is something we can do for you. Even if you need something that is outside of our core expertise, the chances are we have a distributor, partner or independent consultant that can match your needs. We are in IT business so we know what to look for and what to expect.

When is a business “small”?

What is a small business?

Many institutions define small businesses according to their own needs. The Canadian Bankers Association classifies a company as “small” if it qualifies for a loan authorization of less than $250,000. For Industry Canada, a definition based on the number of employees varies according to the sector. Goods-producing firms are considered “small” if they have fewer than 100 employees, whereas for service-producing firms the cut-off point is 50 employees. Above that size, and up to 499 employees, a firm is considered medium-sized. For DELL, small business is defined as one to 200 employees, and medium as 201 to 500 employees. Microsoft defines small businesses as those with 24 or fewer computer users and fewer than 50 employees. For Microsoft, midmarket businesses have 25 to 499 computer users, or 50 to 999 employees.
